Earlier this week I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Kathi Grupp from the Handweavers’ Guild of America, for their ongoing interview series Textiles & Tea.
You can see a recording of the live interview few here:

And do take the time to check out some of the other interviews on their YouTube page, including a discussion with artist Sheila Hicks.
I had the pleasure of spending a morning with photographer Chris Thomond at my studio last month, you can see some of his wonderful images and read my nonsensical ramblings here:
I am honoured to be able to announce that I will be exhibiting some of my work at the extraordinarily beautiful and unique Brompton Chapel in London, SW10, this month.
The show opens on the 26th September and we close on Sunday the 2nd October.
Here & There is a new exhibition featuring woven artwork by Alan Oliver.
Guided by his environment and the sense of identity born out of the learned physical history and storytelling inherent within traditional craft practices, the pieces presented here reference London, the maker’s home, through the use of natural dyes made from locally collected and foraged resources, but, also, explore history, ideas and folklore, to create a topographies of sorts, anchored to a specific locality, but not limited by it.
Alan Oliver is a weaver, dyer and printmaker who uses traditional craft practices to create handwoven rugs, wallhangings and printed textiles, as well as works on paper. He received his MA in textile design from Chelsea College of Art, and he exhibits regularly in London and across the UK. His work is highly unique and can be found in collections around the world, including the UAL (University of the Arts London) permanent collection.
Time and Place is a new exhibition featuring works by studio partners Brian Reinker and Alan Oliver. Combining collage, woven tapestries and rugs, and original works on paper, Time and Place will showcase work created by the artists during the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020/21.

In 2020 work by Oliver was purchased by the University of the Arts, London for their permanent collection.

Brian Reinker’s colourful abstractions and Op-Art based work depicts real and imagined places with the disciplined approach of an architect.
Working in the language of landscape, architecture and topography, and using crisp lines and precision, Reinker’s drawings, paintings and collage works use graphic elements to reinterpret landscapes and urban environments. Reinker’s aim is to distil the essence of these places, using a variety of techniques and media.
In January Reinker was named by Saatchi Art as one of their 21 artists to collect in 2021 https://www.saatchiart.com/stories/21artists/

‘Here Jane Audas, curator of the exhibition ‘Under Your Feet: The Contemporary Rug’ at the Ruthin Craft Centre in north Wales, offers insight into the impressive show display. Such an extensive collection of rugs designed in the British Isles can rarely be seen in one location, so this event is an important one for rug designers in the UK.’
